Sammy Baker Weise is a graduate of Central Methodist with a double major in child development and Psychology. Sammy was born and raised in Columbia, MO. She has been dancing for over twenty year. Sammy has danced and competed in New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, and LA while winning many awards. She won Tribute National Dance Competition 2017 Teacher of the Year Award. Sammy has a true passion for dance and her students. She taught at The Academy of Fine Arts for seven years. She was a youth ministry leader at The Crossing Church for the last five years. She has been the Head Coach for Hickman High School's Dance Team since 2017. She is the wonderful owner and Director of TDA. She teaches most of our tap classes and plays a huge role with our competition program! You will be able to catch Mrs. Sammy either in the classroom or behind the front desk. She is always around!

Emily Carr is from Columbia, MO. She is currently a Sophomore at The University of Missouri majoring in Nursing. Emily has been the front desk manager since TDA first opened in 2017. She is the brains of TDA! Any question you have, she is able to answer it. We love Miss. Emily and couldn't have TDA without her!
Emma French is from Tulsa, OK and is currently a sophomore at Mizzou studying Psychology. She has fifteen years of dance experience including both studio and high school dance team. She's so excited for this new adventure with TDA. You can find Emma behind the front desk or helping Mrs. Sammy in classes.
Olivia Stitz is from St. Louis, MO. She started dancing at the age of three and began competition dance at the age of nine. She was a four year Varsity Member of her high school dance team, the Lindbergh Flyerettes. They were named the 2021 National Champions of the Universal Dance Association competition in Varsity High Kick. She will be attending The University of Missouri this fall majoring in elementary education. Olivia will be helping with our Competition Dance Team along with teaching Hip Hop! We are so excited to have Ms. Olivia with us!
Julie Artemova Schauwecker was born and raised in Moscow, Russia, where she studied and performed with the Bolshoi Ballet Academy and Company for ten years. Julie moved to the United States, where she discovered her love for teaching. She has taught classical ballet, lyrical, pointe, character and historical dance. Julie has taught in multiple studios across the country and is bringing years of experience and a passion for working with children to TDA. She is a mother of two almost grown up children and has been married for 26 years to the love of her life.
Olivia Zacharias was born and raised in Columbia, MO. Olivia is starting her senior year at Columbia College majoring in Elementary Education. She plans on getting her Master's Degree after graduating. Olivia is actively engaged in the Columbia College TEACH Club, where she has held many positions. Through the education department she has had the opportunity to travel to Falmouth, Jamaica to teach in a local primary school. Olivia has danced for the last 16 years where she was on the competition. She grew up as a tapper which quickly became her favorite style of dance. Olivia is the director of the Inclusive Program; which is a dance class for kids of all ages with any type of disabilities. This program has been one of Olivia's favorite things about being a dance teacher. Olivia is looking forward to watching all of her students grow and dancers and learn to love this sport as much as she does! We are so lucky to have Olivia on our staff!
